The couple were shot dead on the night of February 13 while seated inside their car in the parking lot of a supermarket in Akuregoda. According to investigators, two gunmen arrived in another vehicle and opened fire before fleeing the scene.
Police said the arrests were made following ongoing investigations into the double homicide, and further inquiries are underway to apprehend the main suspects involved in the shooting.
