Police said traffic around the stadium will be restricted from 3.00 pm onwards to facilitate the smooth conduct of the high-profile encounter and ensure public safety.
Seven designated parking areas have been prepared for spectators arriving for the match. Although no parking facilities will be available from the Britto Babapulle Junction area, arrangements have been made to accommodate 400 vehicles. Those 400 parking slots will be allocated to ticket holders attending the match.
Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Traffic Control and Road Safety, P.J. Senadheera, stated that once the allocated parking capacity is exceeded, vehicles will be redirected towards Arthur Silva Mawatha and the Grandpass area.
He further said that entry restrictions will be enforced from 3.00 pm at several key access points. These include:
The entry from Vinson Perera Mawatha to Grandpass Road via Babapulle Junction towards Britto Babapulle.
The road from Babapulle towards the stadium, particularly from Vinson Silva Mawatha towards the Kettarama Grounds.
Sebastian Road, including the entrance near the Melwath Bridge (100 Feet Road).
Sri Bodhiraja Mawatha via the Temple Road junction.
Roads entering the stadium from Maligawatta Temple Road and the side road near Maligawatta Lane.
Saddharma Temple Road from Kettarama Junction towards the temple area.
Police urged motorists to use alternative routes and follow directions issued by traffic officers deployed in and around the stadium to avoid congestion.
