US Buddhist monk to visit Sri Lanka to receive sacred relics and Bodhi sapling

Venerable Banyakar from Fort Worth, Texas, has announced that he will visit Sri Lanka by the end of April to receive sacred Buddha relics and a sapling of the Bodhi tree, which will be taken to the United States for enshrinement and public exhibition.

The visit is part of an initiative to promote Buddhist teachings and cultural heritage among devotees in the US. The sacred items are expected to be enshrined at a designated location and displayed to allow devotees and the public to pay homage.

Venerable Banyakar said the delegation looks forward to meeting Sri Lankan devotees during the visit and expressed his blessings to all.

“May you all be well, be happy and be peaceful. Namo Buddhaya,” he said.
