President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that following the implementation of the third salary increment for public servants in 2027, the government will focus on addressing remaining allowances.
Addressing security forces and public officials at the event, the President acknowledged concerns regarding allowances, including food allowances for the armed forces and risk allowances for police officers. He said these matters are currently under review.
The President noted that the government has already implemented the highest-ever salary increase for the public service, with Rs. 330 billion allocated for this purpose. He assured public servants that once the salary increments are completed, the government will carefully examine the budget to provide the remaining allowances.
