The newly constructed “Mega Coopcity” complex in Mullaitivu city was opened to the public today (February 11, 2026) under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Cooperative Development Upali Samarasinghe.

The newly constructed “Mega Coopcity” complex in Mullaitivu city was opened to the public today (February 11, 2026) under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Cooperative Development Upali Samarasinghe.

Built at a cost of Rs. 30 million, the modern commercial complex is expected to provide improved and convenient services to customers while further strengthening economic activities in the Mullaitivu area.

The project was implemented under the Mullaitivu City Development Program with financial assistance from the District Development Fund and the Cooperative Development Department. The new complex is expected to significantly benefit local residents and business communities by expanding trade facilities in the district.

Vanni District Members of Parliament S. Thilakanathan and T. Ravikaran, Mullaitivu District Secretary U. Umamaheswaran, along with government officials and a large number of area residents, attended the opening ceremony.
