Educational reforms aimed at easing the burden on parents and strengthening inclusive learning were highlighted at a special program held this morning in Sri Jayewardenepura, attended by Deputy Minister of Mass Media Dr. Kaushalya Ariyaratne.
Addressing the event, the Deputy Minister said the government’s education reform agenda is focused on reducing the financial and social pressures faced by parents while ensuring equal access to quality education for all children.
Dr. Ariyaratne noted that the reforms go beyond mainstream education and place significant emphasis on special education. She stressed the importance of integrating children with disabilities into the education system and society, enabling them to actively contribute to the country’s development.
“The government is committed to inclusive growth. We are not leaving anyone behind. These reforms are designed to safeguard the rights of every citizen while moving forward together,” she said.
She added that education remains a top national priority, with substantial budget allocations directed toward education, health, and public transportation, reflecting the government’s collective approach to governance and national development.
