MP files complaint against Speaker with BC

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harshana Rajakaruna today lodged a complaint with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) against Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne.

The complaint alleges that the Speaker attempted to disrupt a separate complaint filed against him by Deputy Secretary General of Parliament Chaminda Kularatne.

Speaking to the media, MP Rajakaruna claimed that the Speaker had tried to influence CIABOC regarding the matter.

Last week, suspended Deputy Secretary General of Parliament, Chaminda Kularatne also lodged a complaint at the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption against the Speaker.

According to suspended Secretary General of Parliament and Chief of Staff, Chaminda Kularatne, the complaint was lodged in connection with the Speaker’s alleged corrupt activities.
