Despite being promoted as a state-of-the-art facility, the new building of the National Hospital is drawing criticism over serious inconveniences faced by patients during registration.
At present, there is only one admission counter serving patients from all departments. As a result, patients have been forced to wait in a queue stretching nearly a kilometer since the early hours of the morning, causing severe distress, especially to the elderly and the sick.
Observers question why separate admission counters cannot be arranged based on diseases or departments, particularly in a building equipped with advanced and digital facilities. The absence of such basic patient-friendly arrangements has raised concerns about planning and management.
Additionally, complaints have been raised about the conduct of private security personnel, with patients saying their behavior undermines the dignity of the new facility.
Authorities are urged to take immediate action to improve registration services and ensure patient convenience.
