A fire has broken out at a shop located along the Piliyandala–Maharagama Road, near the Maharagama area, police stated.
According to reports, two fire trucks from the Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte Municipal Council have been dispatched to the scene in an effort to control the blaze.
Authorities are currently working to douse the fire, while the cause of the incident remains under investigation. No casualties have been reported as of now.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area due to traffic congestion caused by the ongoing firefighting operations.
