An arrest warrant issued earlier today (28) by the Hambantota Magistrate’s Court against MP Namal Rajapaksa has sparked controversy, as he is reportedly in the Maldives attending a private event.
The warrant was issued after Rajapaksa failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing. However, sources indicate that he is expected to return to Sri Lanka tomorrow (29), where he is likely to submit a motion and appear before the court.
