Rugby fans are in for a thrilling encounter this evening as Isipathana College, Colombo locks horns with Trinity College, Kandy in the grand final of the 2025 President's Trophy Inter-Schools Knock-Out Rugby Tournament. The high-stakes clash is set to kick off at 4:15 p.m. at the Royal Complex in Colombo.

Isipathana College, the most decorated team in the history of the tournament, will make their record 29th final appearance. Led by skipper Thinethra Dodangoda, they are eyeing their 15th title after strong performances throughout the tournament, defeating Wesley College 24-10 in the quarter-finals and overcoming a formidable Royal College side 24-17 in the semi-finals.

Trinity College, under the leadership of Usman Safaraz, will be looking to end a 14-year title drought, having last clinched the trophy in 2011. The Kandy school has shown impressive form, brushing aside S. Thomas’ College 24-15 in the quarter-finals and dominating Zahira College 29-12 in the semi-finals.

Both teams are known for their fast-paced, attacking rugby, and today’s final promises to be a showcase of youth talent, tactical brilliance, and sheer determination.
