The Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced that its 24-hour service for issuing one-day passports will be temporarily suspended from May 5 to May 7.
This decision has been made in light of the upcoming Local Government elections scheduled during this period. The department stated that normal operations of the expedited passport service will resume on May 8.
Authorities have requested the public to plan accordingly and avoid visiting the offices for urgent passport services during the suspension period. Regular passport services not related to the 24-hour one-day issuance may continue as scheduled, subject to further announcements.
