Police say a total of 331 suspects have been arrested in the past 24 hours as part of the ongoing Crime and Drug Prevention Operation launched earlier this month. The intensified crackdown, which began on April 13, follows the directive of the Acting Inspector General of Police.
Among those arrested, 127 were apprehended in possession of the drug known as ICE (methamphetamine), 98 with heroin, and 104 with cannabis. Authorities have described the special operation as one of the most aggressive efforts in recent years to dismantle drug trafficking networks and curb rising drug-related crime.
Police have also confirmed that the operation is being carried out across all provinces, with special units targeting high-risk areas known for drug activity.
The Acting IGP has reiterated the police force’s commitment to rooting out narcotics from society and emphasized the importance of public cooperation in reporting illegal activities.
