Parliament to Convene for Special Sessions from January 21st today to 24th

The Parliamentary Communications Department has announced that the Parliamentary Affairs Committee has decided to convene Parliament from today, January 21, to January 24.

The session on Tuesday, January 21, will begin with parliamentary business between 9:30 am and 10:00 am, in accordance with Standing Orders 22, from 1 to 6. Following this, the time from 10:00 am to 11:00 am will be allocated for questions requiring oral answers. From 11:00 am to 11:30 am, questions under Standing Order 27(2) will be addressed.

A key item on the agenda will be the adjournment debate on the "Clean Sri Lanka" program, which will run from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. The debate on this program, introduced by the government, will continue the following day, January 22nd.

The House will reconvene on Wednesday, January 22, with parliamentary business from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, as outlined in Standing Orders 22, sections 1 to 6. Further sessions and debates are expected to follow until the conclusion of the meetings on January 24th.
