She made these remarks at a ceremony held today to mark the inauguration of the newly renovated Court of Appeal building, generously donated by the People's Republic of China.

She highlighted that the renovated building stands as a powerful symbol of the government's resolve to correct past injustices and ensure equitable access to justice for every citizen.

"Our country has endured decades of hardship as many were denied justice due to systems of privilege and patronage. Our goal is to rectify these wrongs, ensuring that every individual—regardless of their background—has access to fair and impartial justice," Prime Minister Amarasuriya said.
