Cardinal Ranjith Calls for New Constitution to Strengthen Good Governance
Following a meeting with the Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, yesterday (January 5), Cardinal Ranjith shared his views with the media. He stated that Sri Lanka requires constitutional reforms to address flaws in the existing system and to strengthen investigations into corruption that undermine democracy.
The Cardinal also stressed the importance of uncovering the truth behind the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks, calling for a thorough investigation to identify those responsible and those who supported the incident. He highlighted the need to investigate similar unresolved cases, including murders and disappearances, which have plagued the country in the past.
Cardinal Ranjith urged the government to establish an effective mechanism to address these issues and ensure justice.
