The cases stem from allegations that Gunawardena, while serving as Chairman of the National Lotteries Board in 2006, caused a financial loss to the State through the procurement of vehicles on a rental basis for the institution.
The judgments were initially scheduled to be delivered on May 26. However, Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal postponed the rulings after informing court that the judgments had not been finalised.
The cases were subsequently re-fixed for June 9 for the delivery of the verdict.
Gunawardena has rejected the allegations and maintained that he is not guilty of the charges brought against him.
