A Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) passenger bus traveling from Nikaweratiya to Colombo has met with a severe accident in the Baththuluoya area of the Arachchikattuwa police division this morning.
The bus veered off the road and collided with a tree, a shop, and a house, leaving at least 21 passengers injured.
The injured passengers were quickly transported to Chilaw and Mundalama hospitals for medical treatment. Authorities have confirmed that the injuries range from minor to moderate, with several passengers requiring urgent care.
Police are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
