The much-anticipated GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) examination is set to commence today March 17, and will run through March 26. This year, a total of 474,147 candidates have registered to sit for the examination, according to Commissioner General of Examinations, Amit Jayasundara.
As the examination day approaches, candidates are reminded to ensure that they have all the necessary documents, particularly their admission cards. The Examination Department has announced that it will be open today to assist candidates with any corrections or updates to their admission cards.
Candidates are urged to carefully review their admission cards and address any discrepancies. It is essential that each candidate's signature is verified. School candidates should have their signatures validated by the principal, while private candidates must follow the instructions provided on their admission cards.
Failure to meet these requirements may lead to complications at the examination center. In addition to the admission card, all candidates are required to present a valid identity document upon arrival at the exam center. Accepted documents include a national identity card (NIC), passport, or valid driver’s license.
Candidates without one of these documents should contact the examination invigilators, who have been instructed to provide guidance on the matter. However, results will only be issued after the completion of the necessary identity verification process.
The Examination Department emphasizes the importance of adhering to these guidelines to ensure a smooth examination experience.
