Traffic on the Ella-Wellawaya road, which was previously suspended at night due to the risk of landslides, has been restored from today. Police have confirmed that one lane will be open 24 hours a day, allowing for continuous traffic flow.

The road had been temporarily closed following a landslide in the Karadagolla area, prompting a ban on nighttime travel for safety reasons. Initially, one lane was reopened for daytime traffic only, with full closure during the night.

With the risk level at the affected location now deemed minimal, authorities have decided to maintain one open lane around the clock. Despite this, the police are urging all drivers to exercise extreme caution when passing through the area to ensure safety.

Motorists are advised to stay alert and adhere to all traffic guidelines while traveling on this section of the road.
