The Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, expressed hope that justice will be served in connection with the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks, as the sixth anniversary of the tragedy approaches.
Speaking at the Mass Communication Conference held at the Archbishop's House in Colombo today, Cardinal Ranjith emphasized the importance of accountability in the pursuit of justice.
"If justice is not ensured, taking to the streets in protest will become necessary," Cardinal Ranjith warned, signaling the urgency of addressing the still-pending cases related to the devastating attacks that killed over 250 people and injured hundreds more.
The Cardinal reiterated the call for swift and transparent legal proceedings, underscoring the emotional and spiritual toll the attacks have taken on the victims' families and the wider Sri Lankan community. He expressed confidence that justice would be served, but urged the government and the authorities to expedite the process.
