Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS), has made a startling claim regarding the masterminds behind the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka.

Speaking to the media in Kandy after meeting with the Mahanayake Theras of the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters, Gnanasara Thero stated that he knows the identity of the mastermind responsible for the attacks but refused to disclose this information to the public.

“I am saying this with responsibility. I know who the mastermind is. But I will not reveal it to the media. I will inform the President and those responsible for the country’s security,” Ven. Gnanasara Thero declared.

His statement comes amid ongoing investigations into the tragic terrorist attacks that killed over 250 people and injured hundreds more on Easter Sunday in 2019. While the authorities have arrested and charged several individuals in connection with the attacks, the mastermind’s identity has remained a key subject of public and investigative interest.

The BBS General Secretary’s remarks have stirred considerable attention, with many questioning the significance of his knowledge and the potential implications for national security. However, the Thero has emphasized that he would take this information directly to President Ranil Wickremesinghe and top security officials rather than making it public through the media.

The Sri Lankan government has yet to respond to the claims made by Ven. Gnanasara Thero. Further developments are expected as authorities investigate the matter.
