The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) has decided to temporarily suspend the island-wide strike that was scheduled to begin tomorrow (March 5). The announcement was made this afternoon (March 4) following a discussion between the GMOA and Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
Dr. Prabath Sugathapala, the Secretary of the GMOA, confirmed that the strike would be called off after productive talks with the Health Minister. The decision to temporarily suspend the strike comes after a series of negotiations aimed at resolving the ongoing issues in the healthcare sector.
This development has brought temporary relief to the public, who had been bracing for potential disruptions in medical services across the country.
