The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has arrested two more suspects for their alleged involvement in the assassination of Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, also known as Ganemulla Sanjeewa. The latest arrests bring the total number of suspects apprehended to twelve.

Udara Nirmal Gunaratne, aged 28, was arrested for allegedly providing the SIM cards used in the crime, while 31-year-old Nalin Dushyantha was taken into custody on similar charges. The duo is suspected of aiding the organized crime that led to the shooting death of Ganemulla Sanjeewa on February 19.

Sanjeewa, a notorious criminal figure, was shot dead while inside the Aluthkade Magistrate’s Court, in a highly coordinated attack. The investigation, led by the CCD, continues as authorities work to uncover further details of the plot and identify all individuals involved in the assassination.

The recent arrests signal progress in a case that has garnered significant attention due to the nature of the crime and Sanjeewa's criminal background. Authorities are now focusing on gathering further evidence and ensuring that all responsible parties are brought to justice.
