The arrested individuals have been identified as Pingpura Devage Chamidu Thiwanka Weerasinghe (23) and Sesathpura Devage Samanthi (48), both residents of Katuwellegama, Negombo. They stand accused of concealing information and aiding and abetting the murder.

These arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into the murder of a key individual, Ishara Sewwandi, a primary suspect accused of aiding and abetting the crime and concealing critical information.
Authorities are now focusing on locating a third suspect, Pingpura Devage Ishara Sewwandi, the 25-year-old female who is believed to have played a crucial role in assisting the shooter. Ishara Sewwandi is a resident of 243/01, Negombo Road, Jaya Mawatha, Katuwellegama, and holds National Identity Card No. 995892480V. Police have issued an appeal to the public for assistance in locating her.
To aid in the search, Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasuriya has announced a cash reward from the Police Reward Fund for anyone who provides information leading to Ishara Sewwandi’s arrest. The police have assured that all informants' identities will remain strictly confidential.
The ongoing investigation has garnered significant attention, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing those responsible to justice.
