Chief Magistrate of Colombo, Thanuja Lakmali, has ordered the remand of a police constable attached to the Negombo Police Station in connection with the assassination of Ganemulle Sanjeewa.
The constable, who was arrested in relation to the high-profile killing, will remain in custody until March 7th.
In a related development, the Colombo Magistrate’s Court granted permission for the police to detain and question the driver suspected of transporting the shooter to the scene of the crime. The Colombo Crime Division presented both suspects in court this afternoon.
