In a significant reshuffling within the Sri Lanka Police Department, a total of 139 Officers-in-Charge (OICs) have been transferred, marking the largest such transfer in the department's history.
According to police sources, the reshuffle includes 105 Chief Inspectors of Police (CIs) and 34 Inspectors of Police (IPs), reflecting a major change in the leadership structure.
The transfers will take place in two phases: the first phase is scheduled for February 13, followed by the second phase on February 18. The move is seen as an effort to strengthen the efficiency and coordination within the police force, as well as to address evolving challenges in law enforcement.
