The Coconut Cultivation Board (CCB) is set to reorganize the Kapruka Fund Management Board Societies, beginning in Gampaha on February 17. This move is part of a larger initiative to expand and modernize the coconut farming industry across Sri Lanka.

The reorganization comes alongside the introduction of the Kapruka Loan Scheme, which aims to provide financial support for coconut farmers and boost the sector's productivity.

As part of this strategy, the CCB has set an ambitious target to plant 2.5 million coconut trees throughout the country in 2025. A key focus will be the Northern Coconut Triangle, where one million coconut plants are expected to be planted to strengthen production in the region.

The Coconut Cultivation Board's efforts underscore the government's commitment to revitalizing the coconut industry, which plays a critical role in Sri Lanka's agriculture and economy. Through these initiatives, CCB hopes to enhance local coconut farming and improve the livelihoods of farmers while meeting increasing demand for coconut products both locally and internationally.

The public and local farmers in Gampaha are encouraged to participate in the upcoming event and take part in the long-term growth of Sri Lanka's coconut industry.
