In a significant development, Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Chairman Ramal Siriwardena has tendered his resignation from his post. The resignation was confirmed by Prasanna Kumara Gunasena, the Deputy Minister of Transportation and Highways, earlier today.

This marks the second resignation of a state institution chairman appointed by the current government, following the earlier resignation of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) Chairman Senesh Dissanayake.

The reasons behind Siriwardena's resignation have not yet been disclosed, but it adds to growing attention on leadership changes within state-run organizations.
