The Public Health Inspector's Union has raised concerns about a shortage of public health inspectors across the country.
Secretary Chamil Muthukuda stated that despite ongoing recruitment efforts, the shortage remains a serious issue. At present, there is a shortfall of approximately 1,000 public health inspectors nationwide.
To address the issue, nearly 300 new appointments are expected to be made in February, the union confirmed.
