Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Ajith Perera has accused the National People's Power (NPP) government of taking false credit for the recent electricity tariff reduction.

Speaking to the media, Perera explained that the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka made the decision independently, without any involvement from the government. He also highlighted that the Energy Minister had previously stated in Parliament that such a reduction was not feasible.

He  further criticized the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), a key party in the NPP, for failing to advocate for lower electricity bills during PUCSL consultations.
