The Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, RSP, USP, ndc, psc, paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Speaker of Parliament, (Dr.) Jagath Wickramaratne, at Parliament.
The Secretary-General of Parliament, Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera and Serjeant-at-Arms, Kushan Jayarathna were also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding potential assistance from the Sri Lanka Navy for the renovation of certain areas within the Parliament. Vice Admiral Banagoda expressed the willingness of the Sri Lanka Navy to extend its expertise and support to ensure the successful completion of these projects.
The Hon. Speaker acknowledged the significant role played by the Sri Lanka Navy with regard to national security and development and expressed his appreciation for their willingness to contribute to enhancing Parliament's infrastructure.
He further emphasized the importance of collaboration between state institutions to ensure efficient and cost-effective project implementation.
