Preliminary discussions for the 2025 Budget have started under the leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Preparations Begin for Government’s 2025 Budget with Ministry of Education
As part of the preparations, a meeting focused on the budget proposals related to expenditure for the Ministry of Education was held this morning ( December 10) at the Presidential Secretariat. The discussion was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who also serves as the Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Training.
Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Madhura Seneviratne, Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Mahinda Siriwardena, and Secretary to the Ministry of Education Nalaka Kaluwawa also participated in the meeting, alongside other senior officials from the related ministries.
The discussions are part of ongoing efforts to align the budget with national priorities for the upcoming year.
