The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for heavy rain, strong winds, and rough seas for fishing boats in the Southeast Bay of Bengal's deep-sea areas.

A low-pressure system in the southeast Bay of Bengal is predicted to move west-northwest over the next 24 hours. It is expected to reach the southwest Bay of Bengal, near the Sri Lanka-Tamil Nadu coasts, around December 11.

The Met Department stated that winds up to 60 km/h, heavy rains, and very rough sea conditions are likely in the affected areas.

Fishing and naval communities are advised to remain vigilant and follow future weather updates issued by the Department of Meteorology.
