Train services on the upcountry railway line have fully resumed as of today (2) according to the Department of Railways. The services had been disrupted for five days following a landslide on November 26 which blocked the tracks near the 7th milepost in the Uduwara area.

The landslide caused significant delays and interruptions, affecting the movement of trains between Colombo and the upcountry regions. Teams from the Department of Railways worked tirelessly to clear the debris and restore normalcy to the tracks.

The department confirmed that train operations have now returned to their regular schedule, with no further disruptions expected. Passengers are advised to stay updated on any changes to the schedule through official announcements.
