The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has extended the landslide warning notices for multiple areas across several districts in Sri Lanka, urging heightened vigilance among residents.
According to the latest announcement, Stage 01 landslide warnings have been issued for the following areas:
Badulla District: Haldummulla, Uva Paranagama, Lunugala, Ella, Meegahakivula, Passara, Halilela, and Badulla.
Galle District: Nagoda, Baddegama, Elpitiya.
Kalutara District: Bulathsinghala.
Kandy District: Pathadumbara, Yatinuwara, Deltota, Gangawata Koralea, Ududumbara, Udapalaitha.
Kegalle District: Yatianthota, Kegalle, Bulathkohupitiya.
Matara District: Ratthota, Naula, Pitabeddara, Wilgamuwa, Ambanganga Koralea.
Matale District: Ukuwela, Laggala, Pallegala.
Nuwara Eliya District: Ambagamuwa Koralea, Hungurakketta, Walapane.
Ratnapura District: Pelmadulla, Imbulpe, Kahawatta, Opanayake, Ratnapura, Balangoda.
In addition, a Stage 01 landslide warning has been issued for the following regions under two phases:
Badulla District: Meegahakivula, Passara, Halilela, and Badulla.
Kandy District: Deltota, Gangawata Koralea, Ududumbara, Udapalaitha.
Matara District: Wilgamuwa, Ambanganga Koralea.
Nuwara Eliya District: Hungurakketta, Walapane.
The NBRO has emphasized that people living in these areas should remain alert and take necessary precautions to avoid risks. Local authorities have been instructed to monitor the situation closely, and the public is advised to stay informed through official channels for further updates.
