The Passara-Bibila road, which had been closed for seven days due to the collapse of a mound of earth in the Kanuwa area, has been reopened for traffic today.

The disruption, which began on the morning of November 11, severely impacted travel in the Passara, Bibila, and Monaragala areas. The road, vital for local connectivity, was blocked after the collapse of the earthen mound, halting traffic for nearly a week.

Although the road is now accessible to vehicles, the Badulla Executive Engineer's Office of the Road Development Authority has announced that the road will remain closed daily from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. to allow for necessary safety measures and repairs.

Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly during the restricted hours. Efforts are ongoing to restore full safety and normalcy to the affected stretch.
