The Ceylon Electricity Board Workers' Union has urged the CEB management to distribute bonuses to employees, highlighting the board's reported profitability this year.

Union General Secretary Ranjan Jayalal confirmed that a formal letter was sent to the CEB Chairman, requesting that bonuses be paid before December 10. The union argued that while bonuses were withheld in previous years due to financial losses, the current profits justify rewarding employees.

The union also criticized the management for failing to act on bonus payments over the last two years, despite claims of financial recovery.
