Sunil Kumara Gamage officially assumed duties today (November 19) as Sri Lanka's 21st Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Minister Kumara entered Parliament through the National People's Power (NPP) National List.
He completed his primary education at Olcott College in Galle and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Special) degree and a Postgraduate Degree in Managements from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
A former Deputy General Manager of the National Water Supply Board, Minister Kumara is also a member of the Economic Council and serves as the Colombo District Chairman of the National Scholars Organization.
The Ceremony took place at the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs in Colombo. The event was attended by K. Mahasen, Secretary to the Ministry, Professor Rear Admiral Shemal Fernando, Director General of Sports, and other senior officials from the Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry.
