A Cash in Transit van carrying an estimated Rs 75 million was carjacked yesterday in Minuwangoda sparking a major police investigation. Authorities suspect the van's driver may have played a key role in orchestrating the theft.

The van, which was transporting large sums of money for a local financial institution, was ambushed and taken by unknown assailants. Initial reports indicate that the driver, who was last seen with the vehicle, may have been complicit in the heist, though his exact role in the crime remains unclear.

Police have launched a large-scale search operation, deploying multiple units to track down the suspects and recover the stolen money. Authorities are also urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in locating the driver and the criminals involved.
