The registration process for the MPs elected in the 2024 Parliamentary election begins today (November 19) and will continue tomorrow (November 20), according to Parliament Secretary General Kushani Rohanadheera.
A special counter has been set up in Parliament to collect information from the newly elected MPs. This counter will remain open for two days to ensure all MPs complete their registration.
Additionally, a special workshop is scheduled for first-time MPs on November 25, 26, and 27 to help them understand parliamentary procedures.
The inaugural session of Sri Lanka’s 10th Parliament is set for November 21 at 10:00 a.m. During the session, a new Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Deputy Chairman of Committees will be appointed.
Following this, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will deliver the new government's policy statement at 11:30 a.m., outlining its plans and priorities.
