The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued an early warning for landslides across several districts urging residents to take precautions. The warning is valid from today (17th)at 4:00 PM until tomorrow (18th) at 4:00 PM.
The areas under warning are:
Gampaha District : Attanagalle
Kegalle District: Ruwanwella, Dehiovita, Bulathkohupitiya, and Yatianthota
Kurunegala District: Mawathagama and Ridhigama
Matale District: Ambanganga Koralaya
Matara District : Kotapola, Welipitiya, and Pasgoda
Residents in these areas are advised to remain vigilant and follow any safety instructions from local authorities. Heavy rainfall in these regions may increase the risk of landslides, especially in steep terrain.
