President Anura Kumara Dissanayake advised the officials to hand over 11,000 acres of land owned by Kantale Sugar Company to the farmers for short term bog cultivation.

According to five acres of land is supposed to be provided like this, the president also advised to set up a formal technique for it.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake gave this advice when he met officers from the Ministry of Agriculture, Land, Livestock, Irrrigation, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources at the President's Office.

The president who enquired about the operation and progress of relevant ministries here as the subject minister also discussed the plans ahead.

President Anurakumara Disanayaka appointed (10) officers today to distribute 11,000 acres of grains owned by Kandalai sugar factory to farmers for short-term cultivation.

The president advised to produce a decent engineer, with less than five acres of grains to be supplied.

The President gave these instructions when he met officers of the Ministry of Agriculture, Veterinary, Irrrigation, Marine and Hydro Resources at the Presidential Office today (10) afternoon.

As a Minister responsible for the matter, the president discussed future plans with the actions and developments of the concerned ministries.

President Directs Allocation of 11,000 Acres from Kantale Sugar Company to Farmers for Short-Term Crops

President AnuAnura Kumara Dissanayakes directed officials to allocate 11,000 acres of land, owned by the Kantale Sugar Company, to farmers for short-term crop cultivation.

These lands will be provided in plots not exceeding five acres each, and the President also instructed that a proper mechanism be developed for this process.

President Dissanayake issued these directives today (10) during a meeting with officials from the Ministries of Agriculture, Lands, Livestock, Irrigation, Fisheries, and Aquatic Resources at the Presidential Secretariat.

As the Minister-in-Charge, the President reviewed the performance and progress of the relevant Ministries and discussed upcoming plans.

Present at the meeting were Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Livestock, Irrigation, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources M.P.N.M. Wickramasinghe, and Director General of the Land Commission Hemasiri Liyanage, along with other senior officials.
