The date for accepting postal vote applications related to the general elections, which was scheduled to end at 12.00 midnight today October 8, 2024, has been extended.
The Election Commissioner General Mr. Saman Sri Ratnayake stated that considering the possible delays in the mail and the requests made to the Commission, the deadline has been extended till 12:00 midnight on October 10, 2024 (Thursday).
It is stated that applications should be received at the respective district election offices before 12:00 midnight on October 10, 2024.
Election commission General Saman Sri Ratnayake has further informed in his announcement that this date will not be extended again for any reason.
