The Election Commission is set to release a special circular outlining protocols for government officials and institutions in the lead-up to the upcoming Presidential Election. Chairman of the Election Commission, R.M.A.L. Rathnayake, announced that the circular is in its final drafting stages and will be published shortly.
This circular aims to provide comprehensive instructions on how government officials should perform their duties and manage institutional activities throughout the election period. It will include necessary orders and sub-measures to ensure that the election process is conducted smoothly and in accordance with the law.
In addition to guidelines for government officials, the circular will also issue directives to the media on their conduct and responsibilities during the Presidential Election. This is part of a broader effort to maintain fairness and transparency in the electoral process.
