An investigation has been initiated after eleven school students experienced complications following a vaccine administered by Mihintale Hospital.
The affected children, aged between 6 and 13 and residing in the Mihintale area, were subsequently admitted to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
According to a hospital spokesperson, the students were initially treated at Mihintale Hospital for sepsis but fell ill after receiving a vaccine there.
In response to the incident, the North Central Provincial Health Director has launched an inquiry to determine the cause and prevent future occurrences.
