In commemoration of the 119th Sri Lanka Prison Day, Prisons Commissioner and Spokesperson Gamini B. Dissanayake has announced a special initiative scheduled for the 16th of this month.
Dissanayake outlined the details of the event aimed at fostering connections between inmates and their families.
"On the 16th of this month, we will be facilitating a special opportunity for inmates to receive visitors," Dissanayake stated.
He emphasized that this occasion will allow relatives of the inmates to visit and provide essential supplies such as food and hygiene materials for one inmate.
Highlighting the importance of safety amid ongoing health concerns, Mr. Dissanayake assured that all visits will adhere strictly to health guidelines. "Activities involving the showing of visitors will be conducted in accordance with all health protocols across all prisons on the island," he affirmed.
