An electronic ticketing (E-ticketing) system for public transport services, including trains, is set to be introduced before the end of this year.
The decision was announced by Transport and Highways Ministry Secretary Ranjith Ganganath Rubasinghe at a media briefing held at the President's Media Division (PMD).
