The United Postal Trade Unions' Front has announced a 48-hour token strike starting tomorrow (July 8) and extending through the following day (July 9), according to co-convener Chinthaka Bandara.
In a press conference, Bandara detailed that the strike would begin today (July 7) at 4:00 p.m. at the Central Mail Exchange in Colombo.
The industrial action will then extend to all other post offices across the country from midnight tonight.
Bandara emphasized that the strike is being initiated to address three key demands, although he did not specify what these demands were during the briefing.
