In a bid to protect citizens from rising cyber threats, Sri Lanka's cybersecurity body, CERT, has issued a stark warning.

They've noticed a surge in scams masquerading as messages from banks, businesses, and global bodies offering cash prizes, donations, and jobs.

These fraudsters operate through fake websites and messages on platforms like WhatsApp, tricking people into revealing personal data. The scams often peak during festivals when trust is high but caution can slip.

Despite awareness efforts, the number of victims is rising. CERT urges people to verify messages from official sources and avoid clicking on suspicious links. It's a call for vigilance in the digital age, where staying safe means staying smart online.
